The National spelling Bee contest……..

Can you spell the word pneumonoconiosis, Ptychozoon correctly. Probably no. But a 14 year child can do. That too a child from Indian origin. Yes amazingly its true… The National spelling bee contest conducted every year in Grand Hyatt Washington hotel in Washington, D.C. Out of 11 million children all over the world , some 100 are selected and most of the top ten student were of Indian Origin. To all our surprise the winner and runner of 2008 National spelling bee contest are from Indian Orgin …

A competitor can ask the following hints during the contest

• The definition of the word
• The word's part of speech
• The word's usage in a sentence
• The word's language(s) of origin (• Alternate pronunciations of the word
• Alternate definitions of the word

Hats off to our Indian children. They prove wherever they go……….
